The Amherst County Sheriff’s Office arrests a teenager accused of stabbing a Hill City Company cab driver.
Deputies say it happened just before 11:00 p.m. Sunday in Madison Heights. They say 18-year-old Jason E. Garland called a cab and told the driver to take him to the Lowesville area. When they got to Angus Lane, Garland stabbed the driver in the arm with an unknown weapon and ran off with the driver’s cell phone. Garland also damaged one of the cab’s doors in the process.
Deputies arrested Garland. He is charged with aggravated malicious wounding, defrauding the driver, property damage, and petit larceny. He is being held in the Amherst County Jail without bond.
