Central Virginia Electric Cooperative has experienced a communications outage affecting its three central Virginia offices, located in Nelson, Fluvanna and Appomattox Counties.

The outage is the result a severed data line in Nelson County that occurred during underground construction excavation.

Electric cooperative members can report a power outage by calling 800-367-2832.  Due to limited communications, CVEC asks that members refrain from using the toll-free number unless they need to report a loss of electric service.

CVEC is working to have the damaged line repaired and hopes to have communications restored by the end of the business day.  Look for an update on the CVEC webpage at http://www.forcvec.com.
