An Evington woman will serve 17 years in prison for shooting two people.
Pinkie Louise Layne pleaded guilty today to two counts each of aggravated malicious wounding, using a firearm in a felony and shooting into an occupied vehicle.
According to testimony, Layne had lived with 61-year-old James Howell for 20 years and the two had a daughter together.
On Jan. 1, Layne found Howell and Crystal Aldridge, 41, in a vehicle together near the 1500 block of Blackwater Drive in Evington, according to testimony.
Layne fired a handgun into the vehicle. Howell and Aldridge were shot in the face and torso. Both survived.
