Former Amherst County Board of Supervisors candidate Timothy Alan Beverly was indicted today on a charge of aggravated malicious wounding.
Beverly, 50, of Madison Heights was arrested in April after a property manager was injured removing one of his campaign signs from private property.
According to the Amherst County Sheriff’s Office, Cecil Powell was cut by one of three 2-inch utility knives tucked into the bottom edge of the sign. Powell said two fingers on his left hand were severely cut and that he only has 30-percent use of his hand.
Beverly is free on bond.
Aggravated malicious wounding carries 20 years to life in prison.
