Former Madision Heights firefighter indicted on embezzlement charges

Former firefighter John Wayne Eggleston, of Madison Heights, was indicted by a grand jury Wednesday on two counts of embezzlement.
Sheriff Jimmy Ayers said Eggleston was arrested in June and charged with using the Monelison Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad account to buy gas for his personal vehicle.
According to court records, the alleged embezzlement dates back to December 2006.
He is also free on bond. His trial is scheduled for Nov. 19.
