Lynchburg convenience store robbed at gunpoint

A man walked into a gas station in Lynchburg with a gun this morning and walked out with money, police said.
Shortly before 3 a.m. Wednesday, Lynchburg Police officers were dispatched to the Stop-In Convenience store at 7719 Timberlake Road for an armed robbery.
A man wearing a mask walked in the story and showed the employee a handgun, demanding money. The clerk handed over an undisclosed amount of cash and fled on foot across Timberlake Road.
The man is described as white, about 6-feet-2, and weighing about 240 pounds.
Police are asking that anyone with information regarding the robbery to call the Lynchburg Police Department at (434) 455-6178 or Central Virginia Crime Stoppers at (888) 798-5900.
