A landmark Tchaikovsky symphony and three of the Russian composer’s most popular pieces for cello and orchestra highlight the Lynchburg Symphony’s final concert of its 2007-2008 season.
Cellist Zuill Bailey joins the orchestra for three favorite Tchaikovsky pieces for cello and orchestra, “Variations on a Rococo Theme,” “Nocturnes,” and “Pezzo Capriccio.”
Then the orchestra lets loose with the composer’s profound Symphony No. 6 (“Pathetique”).
The concert will be preceded by a talk by Bailey at Lynchburg College’s Snidow Chapel on April 16, and by a Russian-themed dinner at Daddy Bim’s restaurant on the evening of the concert.
More information is available by calling the symphony at (434) 845-6604.
