Man arrested in Lynchburg burglary spree

A Lynchburg man was arrested Thursday in connection with a string of burglaries in the Rivermont area, police said.
Bernard Andrea Wood, 33, was arrested by Lynchburg police early Thursday morning and charged with three counts of breaking and entering and two counts of grand larceny.
Throughout May and June, a suspect or suspects stole items totaling $22,390 from residences on Woodside Avenue, Co-lumbia Avenue, Denver Avenue, the 1300 block of Rivermont Ave., Botetourt Street, the 300 block of Charlotte Street and Cleveland Avenue, police said.
Further charges against Wood are expected, police said.
