Man hospitalized after Saturday morning crash

One man is in the hospital after a car accident Saturday morning.

Lynchburg Police say it happened at the 1900 block of Florida Avenue around 6:45 a.m.

Police say 22-year-old Shawn Kennedy of Lynchburg lost control of his 1993 Ford Explorer and hit the entrance columns of Brookville Baptist church, a utility pole and then a parked car before coming to a stop.

Kennedy was taken to Lynchburg General Hospital and is expected to be OK.

The accident is still under investigation.
