Motorcyclicst in Critical Condition

Police have released the identities of three people involved in a wreck between a motorcycle and a car last night that left one person critically injured.

Scott M. Cunningham, 29, of Lynchburg, was driving a Harley-Davidson motorcycle that collided with a Nissan Altima driven by Donald R. Trost, 78, of Lynchburg, at the intersection of U.S. 501 South and Breezewood Drive at 8:41 p.m.

Cunningham was taken to Lynchburg General Hospital before transferring to the University of Virginia Medical Center, where he was listed in critical condition last night.

Trost was taken to Lynchburg General Hospital, treated and released. Trost’s passenger, Joan E. Trost, was not injured.

Police have not yet said whether anyone involved will face charges.

Police are continuing to investigate and ask anyone with more information to call the Lynchburg Police Department Traffic Safety Unit at 455-6047 or Central Virginia Crime Stoppers at 1-888-798-5900.
