A Rustburg teenager was indicted Monday on charges of forcible sodomy in separate incidents with two girls last year.
Joshua Kenneth Archer, 17, will be tried in Campbell County Circuit Court as an adult.
Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney Brooke Willse-Gaddy said the court has leeway to sentence Archer as a juvenile if he is convicted.
He is facing charges of abduction with intent to defile, two counts of forcible sodomy, two counts of assault and battery, and two counts of sexual battery.
At his preliminary hearing in February, two alleged victims testified against Archer. The first, a 17-year-old girl, told the court that she ran into Archer in the Rustburg Food Lion parking lot some time in October. She testified that the two were making out in Archer’s car when he forced her to give him oral sex.
The second victim, a 16-year-old, testified that she met Archer at a backyard party after Rustburg High School’s ring dance in November. She told the court that Archer picked her up and took her back to his truck, where they kissed briefly before he also forced her to perform oral sex.
