Virginia Senator, Jim Webb, came to town to talk about the future of energy and its impact on our area. The democrat toured the AREVA facility in Lynchburg before sitting down with community leaders for an energy roundtable discussion at Central Virginia Community College.
Senator Webb says we need to look around at what’s here in the United States.
“I’m a strong believer that we need to look at every asset that we have in this country in order to make us more independent and reduce our dependence on foreign oil,“ Senator Webb said.
Questions about coal also came up in the meeting. Webb said he believes we should continue to produce coal - just use clean technology to do it.
