Train kills Lynchburg man

A Lynchburg resident died after being struck by a train Tuesday night, Lynchburg police said.
Lt. Whit Clark said the incident happened just before 8 p.m. Tuesday at the train tracks running parallel to Hydro Street, off VES Road.
Clark referred to the victim only as a “male subject” and would not release the victim’s name or age.
He said the victim’s next of kin have been notified.
No further information is available, and the incident is still under investigation.
