It’s that time of the year again when thousands of musicians and their fans come to Galax for the 73rd Annual Old Fiddler’s Convention.
Each will compete to be the best in old time music and blue grass.
Volunteers arrived at Felts Park early this morning to start putting the stage and tent together where musicians will compete.
They expect to be finish by tomorrow evening…just in time for the campers who start pulling in on Sunday.
From musicians to bands to fans organizers are expecting about 35,000 people to crowd into the park for the Old Fiddler’s Convention.
Ticket prices range from $6-$12. You can also purchase a ticket for the entire week for $40. The convention kicks off with the fiddler’s youth competition on Monday and ends with the bluegrass and old time band competitions on Saturday.
