A 10 On Your Side update to a helicopter scare that injured a Virginia Tech research horse last week.

The university says the helicopter that caused the scare was an Appalachian Power contracted pilot, who was doing a routine examination of the power lines, near where the research horse herd was last week.

After being spooked by the helicopter, one of the research horses ran through a fence and hurt its leg.

The university believes the incident was an accident, and will not press charges.
