A judge orders a local restaurant to pay more than $38,000 in back taxes.
The owner of El Guadalupe’s mexican restaurant in Blacksburg apparently collected meals taxes, which are 5%, but didn’t pay them to the town.
According to Blacksburg’s Finance Director, the owner has already made two court appointed payments totaling $2,000 and is working to re-pay the town the entire amount.
The town finance director also tells us the restaurant has to re-pay the money before re-opening or getting a license for another business.
