Blacksburg Police are investigating what caused a man to crash his car into a house Tuesday night, July 1st.

Officers tell us the accident happened around 6:50 p.m., in the 600 block of Prices Fork Road near its intersection with McBryde Drive.

Police say 61-year-old Joseph Monoski Jr. ran off the right shoulder of Prices Fork Road, hit a street sign, then raised a concrete manhole cover, drove across a font yard, and crashed into an unoccupied house.

Investigators estimate the crash caused $8,000 worth of damage to the house.  The crash also totaled the car.

EMS crews took Monoski Jr. to Montgomery Regional Hospital.  He is not seriously hurt.  Investigators are trying to determine if Monoski had a medical emergency before the crash.

No charges have been filed as of yet.
