A former Roanoke City Police Officer pleads guilty to DUI. Andrew Page was charged in February after wrecking his police cruiser on Interstate 81.
State Police say he crashed his cruiser into a guard rail near the Dublin exit in Pulaski County. A breathalyzer taken at the jail showed Page’s blood alcohol level was twice the legal limit at .16.
A judge ordered Page’s license be suspended for a year and must attend VASAP meetings in order to obtain a restricted license which would allow him to drive to and from work. Page must also pay a $250 fine.
Captain Chris Perkins with the Roanoke City Police Dept. says as of March 6th, Page is no longer with the department and would not say whether he was fired or resigned calling it a “personnel matter”.
