Former trooper Lance Rosenbaum was arrested in January after wrecking his truck on a neighbor’s lawn, sending passenger Devin Howard to the hospital.
Monday, Rosenbaum plead not guilty in Montgomery county general district court but admitted there was enough evidence to convict him.
Special prosecutor Eric Bransom says the judge found Rosenbaum guilty and ruled he’ll have to attend VASAP classes for a year, pay a $250 fine, get an ignition interlock device put in his vehicle and be put on probation for a year.
Branscom says they decided to request the ignition interlock device because Rosenbaum eluded to having a drinking problem during conversations with deputies when he was arrested.
Bransom says Howard did not wish to pursue any charges against Rosenbaum. Branscom adds he’s spoken with property owners who say the former state trooper has returned and “fixed things” on his own.
