From the streets to schools investigators in Galax arrest a local man for allegedly recruiting gang members at the middle school.
Police started investigating 22-year-old Travis Goad of Galax earlier this month, after parents took their concerns to the school resource officer.
Police say he recruited students for the gang known as the “Bloodz.“
Goad was arrested last Tuesday, and charged with the solicitation of 20 juveniles on school property.
He’s being held in the NRV Jail without bond. Investigators say the 20 students involved went through the initiation process and that some of them will be referred to juvenile court where a judge will decide if charges will be filed.
