Last Minute Preps Before Hokies Host NY Yankees

The New York Yankees will take the field at Virginia Tech on Tuesday.
After the shootings on April 16th, the Yankees said they would play the Hokies to show their support. Now, construction workers are putting the finishing touches on the addition at English Field. It’s all to provide extra seats for fans to enjoy the game.
Colby Eyler, with Haile Landscape Design says, “we’re within three walls of being complete, which makes us very happy. But at the same time, there’s no happiness like finishing it before the game gets here.“
Tickets were only available to current students, faculty, and those students enrolled on April 16th. The gates will open at 12:00 p.m. and the game starts at 3:00 p.m.
