A man drowned in the New River while fishing, according to Pulaski County Sheriff Jim Davis.
Investigators say they got a call around 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 6th, that a man had gone underwater, and did not come back up. This happened near the trestle on Hazel Hollow Road.
Deputies found the body of Samuel Matthew Harless from Shawsville, a short time later. Officers say Harless and a friend had been fishing while wading in the river, under the trestle.
