A federal grand jury formally charges a Las Vegas man with e-mailing threats to former Virginia Tech students on the eve of the one year anniversary of the April 16th tragedy.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office says Johnmarlo Balasta Napa sent the e-mail threats two to former Virginia Tech students on the night of April 15th, 2008. According to federal prosecutors, Napa sent the messages from an e-mail account bearing the name “seunghuichorevenge@yahoo.com.” The recipients of the e-mails did not know Napa, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
Napa is charged with two counts of transmitting in interstate commerce from Henderson, Nevada (outside Las Vegas), to a computer server at Virginia Tech.
If convicted on all charges, Napa could face up to ten years in prison, and/or a fine of $500,000.
