Probation instead of jail time for former Montgomery Co. employee

A former treasurer’s office employee, charged with embezzlement, receives probation instead of jail time. Back in October, Tammie Lawson of Christiansburg was accused of taking $8,500 from the Montgomery County Treasurer’s Office. This week, she was sentenced to five years, but a judge suspended that time and gave her two years probation.
