Shooting suspects get ready for trial

Two men will go on trial next week for shooting into the off-campus apartment of Virginia Tech cornerback “Macho” Harris.
Last November, Blacksburg police responded to the football player’s apartment after neighbors reported hearing gunshots.
Officers say seven shots were fired from a 9MM handgun and a single shotgun blast hit the building.
At least two of the 9MM rounds went through the apartment.
Police arrested Augustus Peal of Christiansburg and Anthony Lucas of Washington.
Both are charged with discharging a firearm into an occupied dwelling, which is a felony. Their trial starts next Tuesday at 9 a.m. in Montgomery County Circuit Court.
