A North Carolina truck driver was charged with stealing three television sets from an interstate truck stop on three occasions this month. He also was charged with shoplifting a pair of athletic shoes and a spotlight.
Wythe Co. Sheriff Doug King reported the Wilco-Hess store near Wytheville had videos of a man stealing from the store in the early morning hours in different incidents. He said two of his officers in plain clothes staked out the store Thursday morning, July 24th.
At 4:45 a.m., the truck driver entered the store, according to the sheriff. He was identified, too, by the cashier.
Andrew White Jr., 47, of Charlotte, N.C., was taken into custody at the time. He was charged with three counts of grand larceny and two counts of petit larceny.
“The subject generally came in around 4:30 and 5 in the morning,“ King said.
