Virginia Tech sends out e-mail regarding Ferrum College lockdown

Read the news release from Virginia Tech below:
The Ferrum College campus community continues to be secured while they search for a person seen with a weapon on their campus this morning.
During the course of their investigation, it was reported that a person was ‘on his way to Virginia Tech.‘ This caused some concern and the Virginia State Police contacted Virginia Tech.
Subsequently, this person has been found, he is not on his way to Virginia Tech, is not considered a threat, and indeed, had legitimate business here. He is not the person seen with the weapon this morning and has no connection with the Ferrum incident. Authorities at Ferrum continue to search for the person in question.
Obviously campus communities across the nation are on edge. We provide this information simply to keep you apprised and avert rumors should you hear information to this effect.
