The Wythe County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the theft of a water pump from a landscaping project in the High Bridge Road area of Wytheville. It received the report last Thursday.
According to Chief Deputy Keith Dunagan, Curb Appeal, a landscaping company from Hillsville, was using the pump to take water from the creek and transporting the water back to the job site. After unloading the water, workers returned to the area of the creek where they had been pumping and found the pump gone.
The pump was stolen between 6:30 and 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 24, Dunagan said. He described the pump as a red Honda motor and pump mounted in a yellow tube type frame.
There was a green intake hose with a strainer and a blue output hose with the unit, the officer reported.
