Workers say people will lose their jobs at Volvo this week

Workers say the lay-offs at Volvo will begin this week on May 16th.

Torri Webb says he’s worked at Volvo for over ten years. Although he’s lucky to keep his job, he has lost his job before at the plant.
He says he hopes those affected this time will have a chance to come back, like he did.

“It’ll pick up eventually; it always does. They are saying, predicting next year to be a big year for the trucking company anyway. So hopefully they should be back before long,” he said.

The lay-offs will affect people hired between 1997 and this year.
