WHITE HOUSE (AP) - President Bush is ordering top officials to fan out across the country in search of ideas on how to avert shootings like the horrific massacre Monday at Virginia Tech.
In his weekend radio chat, the president says there were "many warning signs" from shooter Seung-Hui Cho, and he says the nation needs to be better at recognizing such indicators.
The White House has released his comments in advance of the broadcast.
Speaking for the Democrats on the radio, Minnesota Senator Amy Klobuchar also focuses on the shootings. She cheers the nationwide outpouring of support for the Virginia Tech community, calling it inspiring.
