For many Hokies, Coach Frank Beamer is much more than just a leader on the football field.

Until Friday night, Beamer hadn't talked much about the tragedy at Virginia Tech publicly.

Coach Beamer came out to English Field Friday to support the Hokie baseball team and honor the 32 Hokies who were killed Monday.

"I think all of us grieve with those families and the victims and all Hokies just have a heavy heart," Beamer said.  "They were just such terrific kids and professors here at the University."

Beamer went on to say that "there was no reason for them to die.  But, we're not ever going to forget them, but at the same time I see us coming back stronger than ever."

Coach Beamer said the football team is still working out details on its plan to honor and remember the 32 Hokies who were lost.

Beamer says Michael Vick has already called him and is planning a trip for the first home game against East Carolina.
