Family and former classmates filled a quaint old church today to remember Leslie Sherman before a procession led the Virginia Tech shooting victim to her burial at Arlington National Cemetery.

A large wreath in the shape of the VT logo was placed at the Arlington grave site with other flowers.

Sherman meets the criteria for internment at the military burial grounds because her mother is a retired veteran and her father is active in the reserves.

About 500 people mourned the Springfield resident at the Old Presbyterian Meeting House in historic Old Town Alexandria. She was remembered as an American history buff who constantly served others.

Her pastor, the Reverend Doctor Robert Laha Junior, says in many ways, she accomplished more in her 20 years than most of us do in a lifetime.
