Several campus organizations have created hometown healing sites throughout the New River Valley and Salem.
The maroon and orange flowers that fill the gardens symbolize life, hope, growth and remembrance.
The Service Learning Center, Circle K International and Chi Delta Alpha Service Sorority all partnered up to plant the flowers on Saturday.
They hope to do it every year.
