God’s Pit Crew has teams heading down to Tennessee and Arkansas, scenes of devastation after tornadoes struck Tuesday night.

Home Depot jobs on the way for Danville area

Danville’s Home Depot should begin advertising its job openings in the next few weeks, according to a company spokeswoman.  Sarah Molinari, of Home Depot, said she expects the Danville store, which will be located in Coleman MarketPlace, to hire about 150 people.

Home burned in Pittsylvania County

One firefighter was injured and a mobile home suffered significant damage during a Wednesday evening blaze at Bachelors Hall Mobile Home Park, off Charming Road in Brosville.

Danville police are trying to piece together what may have led to the city’s first two murders of the year.

Antonio Saunders, the inmate who escaped from a Danville Adult Detention Center work crew Tuesday morning, turned himself back in at about 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Chatham Woman Killed in Crash Involving Prison Inmates.

Police say a van carrying seven inmates didn’t stop at the intersection of Climax Road and Rotue 40. It hit the back end of a Ford Explorer. Police tell WSLS Tiffany Chaney, 22, was thrown from the truck and died.
