“We need to have Virginia Uranium’s plan first and then we can study their plan,“ said Eloise Nenon, an activist fighting uranium mining in Pittsylvania County.  She testified Monday before lawmakers in Richmond, with 10 volumes of a study done in 1983 when the issue of mining uranium first came up.

Pittsylvania County approves animal ordinance

The ordinance states that animal control officers will pick up roving dogs in the public right-of-way or on neighbors’ property. Dog owners would have to fetch their pets from the pound, facing pick-up fees and/or a fine if the loose canines aren’t wearing tags.
