The Danville Pittsylvania County Chamber of Commerce will make an announcement today that its director says will bolster the area’s economic-development endeavors.
Laurie Moran, president of the Danville Pittsylvania County Chamber of Commerce, said the announcement will relate to national recognition, instead of a new industry or more jobs for the area. She said it will be something that “doesn’t get announced every single day.” Moran declined to elaborate.
“That’s all I’m at liberty to say at this point,” she said.
City, county and chamber officials have been invited to the event, Moran said. The announcement is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. today at the Chamber office at 8653 U.S. Highway 29 in Blairs.
