Danville police arrest a teenager and charge him with armed robbery. It happened around midnight Thursday at the Piney Forest Exxon. According to police, the clerk reported a male went inside the store with a rifle and demanded money, and the entire incident was caught on surveillance video. An off-duty police officer saw the suspect leaving the store on a bicycle, and alerted other officers that he was headed toward Woodside Village. Police say officers spotted a suspect matching the same description near a dumpster, where evidence from the crime was found. Police dogs were brought in, and tracked down the suspect. The boy, 13, is charged with armed robbery and use of a firearm in commission of a felony. The suspect’s name is not being released because of his age. If you have any information on this incident, please contact Danville Crimestoppers at (434) 793-0000.
