Copper thieves strike five times in Danville

A fifth business got hit around 1:00 p.m. today (Thursday). It is our media partner, the Danville Register & Bee.
Danville Police say the copper coils from the newspaper’s air conditioning unit, as well as four copper downspouts were stolen.

Danville Police say copper thieves have struck again. This time, officers say four copper thefts happened within the past few days.

Here’s a breakdown of the most recent crimes police say happened:
- Leland Tile Company on Industrial Avenue: The copper coils and tubing from a two ton air conditioner behind the business were stolen.
- 300 block of Holbrook Avenue: The copper from two heat pump units was stolen from behind the residence.
- First Baptist Church on Main Street; The copper from the air conditioning unit was stolen from behind the church.
- All in One Barber Shop on Craghead Street: The copper coils from a three ton air conditioning unit were stolen from the rear of the business.
