Danville police responded to two separate stabbing incidents after midnight Monday.
After getting a domestic disturbance call, police arrived at 656 Cardinal Place and discovered what appeared to be a male assaulting a female, said Lieutenant D.W. Crawford. When an officer took hold of the male, Michael Washington, and pulled him backwards off the female, Patricia Wimbush, she started stabbing him, Crawford said. Wimbush managed to get two puncture wounds to his thigh. Washington was treated at Danville Regional Medical Center and released, said Crawford. Police charged Wimbush,44, with malicious wounding.
Police are still investigating a reported stabbing of a man on Seminole Drive. The victim called police and told them a black male had stabbed him in the shoulder. He was taken to Danville Regional Medical Center with non life-threatening injuries.
Lieutenant D.W. Crawford said the times of both incidents were not immediately clear on report sheets.
