Replacement of two broken metal expansion joints in the northbound lane of Robertson Bridge will entail closing that lane for six weeks, beginning Monday.
A news release from the Danville Department of Public Works states that the bridge is structurally safe, but the areas by the joints need to be sawed out and filled with new concrete and the metal joints will then be bolted back into place.
Southbound traffic will be able to continue using one lane during the construction. Northbound traffic will be detoured to Central Boulevard.
