Danville woman robbed walking into Food Lion
A woman was walking from her vehicle to Food Lion when a man ran towards her and tried to grab her pocketbook, police say.

Police are investigating a purse-snatching in the Southwyck Plaza parking lot that happened last night.
At about 9:30 p.m. a woman was walking from her vehicle to Food Lion when a man ran towards her and tried to grab her pocketbook, police say. She swung her pocketbook at him. He hit her in the face, knocked her to the ground, grabbed her purse and fled the scene in an older model burgundy vehicle, according to police.
The victim described the suspect as a black make, slim build, 5’11”, wearing jeans, a white t-shirt and a black do-rag.
