Former Pittsylvania Co. fire chief pleads guilty to child porn

Former Riverbend Volunteer Fire Department Chief Gary Lee Toler faces up to 95 years in prison, after pleading guilty to possession of child pornography Tuesday in Danville Circuit Court.
Toler pleaded guilty to one count of aggravated sexual assault and 15 counts of possession of child pornography, according to Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney Michael Newman.
Toler will be sentenced Sept. 2.
His bond was revoked by the court and he’s in the Danville City Jail. Toler, a former Pittsylvania County fire marshal, resigned his post of fire chief last week.
