GW Danville’s Waters is Air Force Assoc. teacher of the year

Daniel Waters, a technology education teacher at George Washington High School, has been named the Virginia Air Force Association Teacher of the Year for 2008.
Waters was presented with the award, a check for $1,000, an AFA jacket and a membership in the Civil Air Patrol Aerospace Education at the June convention of the Virginia State AFA.
Earlier, he was chosen as Danville’s teacher of the year by the local AFA Chapter 240-Danville, which sent his name in for consideration as the state teacher of the year.
Waters graduated from GW and went to college at North Carolina State University. He taught in North Carolina for four years before returning to teach at GW in 1990.
He teaches introduction to engineering, Cisco internetworking, computer control and automation and geospatial technology. Waters also developed and mentors the FIRST Robotics program.
