Man found stabbed in chest in Danville

Danville Police are investigating after a man is found stabbed in the chest early Monday morning.  Police have charged Wykeema McClark, 19, from Danville, with aggravated malicious wounding in conjunction with the stabbing.

UPDATE: Police have charged Wykeema McClark, 19, from Danville, with aggravated malicious wounding in conjunction with the stabbing on Pleasantview Avenue reported earlier, according to a release from the police department. McClark is currently in the Danville City jail. The release says the victim, a 20-year-old female is in stable condition.

An investigation by the Police Department determined that the she and McClark got into an argument before McClark stabbed her in the chest.

Police are investigating an early Monday morning stabbing on Pleasantview Avenue. At 1:20 a.m. police responded to a call on the 100 block of Pleasantview Avenue and found one person stabbed in the chest, according to Sergeant Oakes.
The Danville Lifesaving Crew transported the victim Danville Regional Medical Center for surgery. Oakes at about 7 a.m. said the victim’s status was unknown.
Police have a suspect in custody, but are waiting to release information while they talk with the detective.
