COLLINSVILLE—Henry County authorities today announced a $67,000 reward for information leading to a conviction in the Short family murders of 2002.
The bodies of Michael and Mary Short were discovered in their Bassett home on Aug. 15, 2002. The body of their 9-year-old daughter Jennifer was found a month later in nearby Rockingham County, N.C. All three had been shot to death.
Previous rewards offered in the case totaled more than $25,000. Most of the new reward comes from a recent $50,000 contribution from the Henry County Board of Supervisors.
Deputies said they have interviewed 4,000 people in the six years they have pursued the case.
