South Boston Police arrest an 18-year-old for a home break-in.

Officers say Alexander Payne ran from them when they arrived at a home on Summitt Drive.  The officers arrested the teenager after a short chase.

Investigators say evidence at the scene of the break-in lead to to suspect Payne.

Payne faces charges of: Breaking and entering with the intent to commit larceny, possession of marijuana, underage possession of alcohol, and obstruction of justice.

Payne is being held at the Blue Ridge regional Jail under a $10,000 bond.
