State Police investigate fatal accident in Franklin Co.

State police are investigating a fatal crash in Franklin County.

It happened around 2:45 p.m. Friday on Route 641.

Investigators say 33-year-old Amy Lawrence of Penhook was driving westbound and did not yield to the right of way at a stop sign.

Troopers say she pulled into the path of another vehicle.

Lawrence was taken to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital for her injuries and died a short time later.

Investigators say no charges have been placed against the other driver, 51-year-old Nancy Furrow of Boones Mill.
