It’s the question I’ve been asked the most recently, “How do you like getting up so early”? Actually I love it.

I am such a morning person. Truth be told, I never got up at 2 a.m. as I have to now, but I got up early. I feel like I am much more productive when I am up and at it earlier. Sure, there are days I wish I could sleep in-- “sleep in” meaning until 7 or 8 for me-- but with a baby in the house, forget it. Thinking back, I don’t know how I worked late nights so long, especially when football games ran late and we didn’t go on the air until 1 in the morning.

I am enjoying the new shift and am grateful the station has given me the opportunity. I think I’m at my best early.

Most importantly, I am enjoying having weekends with my family and actually being able to visit other family other than on vacations. The first weekend I filled in, my husband asked me if I realized it was the first time we’d ever had the weekend off together without one of us taking a vacation day.

I’m glad that’s now all changed. Bring on the weekends… REAL weekends!!
