If you love politics, this is your weekend!
Over the next three days we will have two presidential candidates, one former president, and a president’s daughter all in our backyard. When’s the last time that happened?!?
Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama will hold separate town hall meetings in Roanoke on Sunday and Monday respectively. Former President Bill Clinton will be at a rally on the campus of Virginia Tech Saturday night and his daughter Chelsea may visit VT during a Virginia college tour on Monday. Just typing all of that wore me out, and we haven’t even gotten to the coverage of all of that!
Southwest Virginians this is your chance to get up close to these candidates. Hear their message. Possibly meet them. Ask them a question. Feel the energy. We only elect a president every four years and rarely does that election focus as intently on Virginia as this one is. Take advantage of it!
Going into this primary season, we all figured the nominations would be decided by Super Tuesday. That essentially happened in one party but not in the other. For a political junkie like me, this is pure heaven.
