I came in today with a story I had already written ready to air and then things just got a little crazy… I checked my voice-mail and had a message from a viewer concerned about the fact that she had not heard anything in the news about the recall of her heart medicine Digitek… she was the second person I had heard from… I followed up with a call to one of my pharmacy contacts and turns out there is a major recall and the company is asking them to go back as far as 2006 and contact patients to see if they are still taking the medicine and if they have any on hand.

The recall is of Digitek from March of 2006 to April 2008.  There is a chance that some of those pills are too big and contain a double dose of the medication.  If you know someone who takes it who has not been notified yet there are a couple of things to keep in mind.  Do not stop taking your medicine and talk to your doctor immediately.
